Details of $60K in 60 Days
After congratulating us, the first question most people ask is, “Why does adoption cost so much?” And although we still don’t have an answer that satisfies every questioner, we can confidently tell you this – we would spend whatever it took to make sure our future baby boy or girl came home safe and sound. That said, the costs add up in a hurry, and we will be depending on others’ financial support. Thus, we have provided a Sample Costs page for our adoptions in Ethiopia and Haiti HERE so you can see where the money is going.
Now that God has blessed us with this opportunity to adopt domestically, we are adding a third set of expenses to the mix. Each adoption is going to cost roughly $30,000. While the international adoptions are progressive in their payment structures, the domestic adoption is due basically in one lump sum once our child is born. This means that we will need the $30,000 for this adoption by the 1st of August.
But we believe in a big God who does big things and provides in big ways through people whose lives are moved by adoption. So we’ve set a big goal: $60K in 60 Days. And yes, we’re launching this a little bit before the 60 days, but we’re hoping for a running head start! Here’s how we came up with it.
3 Adoptions x $30,000 per Adoption = $90,000 needed
Money we have personally paid into our adoptions already = $15,000
Additional money we personally expect to contribute = $15,000
$90,000 needed to adopt
- $15,000 already paid
- $15,000 additional personal contribution
= $60,000 needed to raise
This got us thinking…what if a lot of people got behind our cause and just gave a little bit? Here’s what it could look like:
- 60,000 people give $1 = $60,000
- 30,000 people give $2 = $60,000
- 20,000 people give $3 = $60,000
- 12,000 people give $5 = $60,000
- 6000 people give $10 = $60,000
- 3000 people give $20 = $60,000
After seeing how the numbers work out, we felt that 3000 people just might be willing to help us out with a $20 donation. We sincerely hope you’ll consider doing just that.
We also understand that there are many crooks and dishonest people in this fallen world. We promise to faithfully use the money for our adoption costs, and nothing else. If you would like to send your money to a third party for distribution to us in order to ensure the highest level of accountability, then please email us directly at: email@example.com, and we will give you instructions on how to do this.
If you are considering giving a larger amount or simply desire a tax-deductible receipt for your donation, please email us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org before giving your donation and we will provide you with instructions on how to accommodate this request. Please note that giving directly to us is not tax-deductible.
